Tomato poori- This tomato poori recipe is a very easy to make and tasty,delicious recipe specially for kids. Kids loves the tangy flavour of tomatoes in chips and snacks. So I thought of making tomato flavour poore’s and they are an instant hit at my place.




Every one in my family loves these tomato poori’s. I have used tomato puree but you can use ready tomato puree or even use tomato ketchup and some puree to make the dough.
Addition of coriander leaves ,ginger ,garlic
is gives a nice flavour in the poori’s. You can substitute methi leaves with mint leaves or just use chopped coriander leaves.
These poori’s taste good with some chutney ,pickle, curd and a cup of garam chai !

Ingredients

 5 servings
  1. 360 grams Wheat flour
  2. 5 Fully ripe tomato
  3. 1 tbsp Cumin seed
  4. 1 tsp oil
  5. 3 Green chilli
  6. 1 inch Ginger
  7. 6 pieces Garlic
  8. As required Coriander leaf
  9. as needed Salt & water
  10. As required Cooking oil - to deep fry (I used refined oil)

Steps

  1. 1. Wash and cut in small peace and grind 5 tomato and garlic, ginger, green chilli, cumin seed 1 tbsp salt to taste in a mixie jar without adding water. Grind it to make a smooth puree.

  2. 2.In a big bowl mix wheat flour, 1 tbsp oil, and coriander leaves.

  3. 3.Now add tomato puree in the wheat flour mixture and make a medium stiff dough. Add few tsp of water if needed.

  4. 4. Cover and rest the dough for 30 minutes.

  5. 5.Now make small balls from the dough and dust with flour and roll to make medium thick pori.

  6. 6.Heat oil, in a deep pan and gently slide the poori in the hot oil.

  7. 7.After adding in the oil, reduce the heat to medium and gently press the poori from one side with a slotted spoon, it's helps to puff up the poori.

  8. 8.Fry from both the sides till golden in colour, remove from the pan and drain on a paper napkin.

  9. 9. Serve hot or cold.
