Momos are a popular street food in northern parts of India. These are also known as Dim Sum and are basically dumplings made from flour with a savory stuffing. Learn to make these popular Tibetan recipe of easy vegetable momos from scratch with two folding techniques. The recipe is vegan.This is very delicious recipe and easy to make at home.
Ingredients
- For Dough:
- 240 Gram maida
- 1 tbsp oil for kneading
- to taste salt
- For Stuffing:
- As required water for kneading
- 3 tsp oil
- 1 bowl cabbage, shredded
- to taste salt
- 1 tbsp Capcicum
- 3 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp soya sauce
- 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
- 2 chilli, finely chopped
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 4 tbsp carrot, grated
- 1/4 tsp pepper, crushed
- 1 tbsp red chilli sauce
Steps
Firstly, prepare stuffing by heating oil and sauté clove garlic, ginger and green chilli.
Also, add onion and saute on high flame.
Further, add carrot and cabbage and capcicum,soya sauce,red chilli sauce. stir fry on high flame.
Now add 1/4tsp pepper and salt to taste.
Stuffing mixture is ready.
Further, pinch a small ball sized momos dough and flatten.
Now dust with some maida and start to roll using a rolling pin.
Roll to almost medium thin circle. around 4 – 5 inch in.
Now place a heaped tbsp of prepared stuffing in the centre.
Start pleating the edges slowly and gather everything.
Press in middle and seal the momos forming a bundle.
Heat a steamer and arrange the momos in the tray without touching each other.
Furthermore, steam momos for 10-12 minutes or till shiny sheen appears over it.
Finally, veg momos recipe is ready to enjoy with momos chutney.
